About Sponsor Child Program
This program commenced in 2011 with 66 children, receiving RM40.00 per month, donated by friends. The TECH team met the children at the Centre For Child Development (CFCD) office in Jaffna where they had a half a day motivation course, by the TECH team. CFCD is TECH’s partnering NGO in NESL The money goes a long way to help the children with their tuition fees which is mandatory.
In 2013, the number of children increased to 100.
In 2013, another 72 children were sponsored through another of TECH’s Partnering NGO, Rural Women’s Forum.
In 2014, TECH sponsored a 2 day motivation course for 60 children in Jaffna, coordinated by CFCD. This course was conducted by Mrs. Rupa Sivanoli.
In 2015, RWF was phased off and we had 212 children sponsored through CFCD,
In May 2016, Dr. Malar and Lakshwin Muruga visited Sri Lanka and obtained sponsorship for a new batch of 100 children.
Today, we sponsor 312 children through CFCD, a portion of whom are differently abled children.
TECH requires sponsorship for the children and depend on public contribution.
